I am the proud host of the Blogging Boomers Carnival this week. We are only 5 weeks away from our 100th posting of the weekly carnival and I'm wondering if that means we'll be going into syndication?? Hmmmm....

Without further ado (or posturing...hehe) here is this week's lineup:

But what if you still need to find a job? With the U.S. jobless rate hitting 6.5% in October, and many economists thinking it could reach 8% by late 2009, many boomers are or will be looking for a mid-life career change. Geez -- the Blogging Boomers Carnival is almost at 100 weekly posts! Amazing that this group would not only stick together, but find it interesting, exciting AND that we'd continue to attract new talent to our group (with a wait list!)

This week's host is a woman who is a changer in her own right. Cindy Samuels has refined the art of e-news conferences and e-media roundtables like no one else I've met in the industry. Just to give you an idea of what this unusual and creative venue is, image a press conference...but via an internet roundtable. Cindy typically invites bloggers only, as she is very attuned to the types of questions we're bound to ask, the honesty we expect from the interviewee, and the immediacy of the response to our blog posts on the interviews. It is a very powerful press conference, but relies heavily on the moderator (in this case Cindy) to keep tight virtual control while ensuring the best of the interviewee is highlighted. I've been invited to a few of her e-conferences that are Boomer related and they are always uniquely interesting.

As for me? I was absorbed this week by the similarities between a new immigrant breaking into the workforce of a new country, and an aging baby boomer trying to break into that same market.

After about 15 hours of sheer panic, my blog was released and I'm back in the saddle! I always appreciate the spiders and robots, but when you are the subject of their scrutiny? Uh...not so much. Blogging Boomers Carnival #75

Life Two is this week's host of our weekly carnival and I'm posting early, so you can get a head start...because it is a really good one (at least WE think so!) Remember Penny Candy?? I do.

Where has my head been? Walking (wafting?) around in 110 degrees!

It's been a scorcher week in Los Angeles. For those of you who don't know, I run a pet care service called Pooch Buddies...that means I'm out walking (like the post office) in rain or shine, wind or hail. And this week the temperatures have been in the triple digits. Makes for some very unhappy dogs and some very sweaty dog walkers. All that to say, in my state of dehydration, I completely missed the boat on promoting Blogging Boomers Carnivals #73 AND #74. 74 is hosted over at The Midlife Crisis Queen. And #73 was hosted at This Marriage Thing! Both hosts celebrated their FIRST time as Carnival Hosts...and they did us proud!
